Marguerite Bonser

 

1991 - 2009

Marguerite was a much loved, respected and valued member of the club. During her membership she had held the posts of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Junior Records officer and general committee member.

Marguerite had been a driving force in setting up the Junior club and in conjunction with Margaret Shorrock was instrumental in starting to run sessions exclusively for the juniors at the club.

Marguerite started off shooting Recurve, but later converted to the Longbow, a discipline in which she became quite proficient achieving the classification of First Class.

She with be greatly missed by her friends and shooting companions.

Frank Smith

1968 - 2010

Frank was the Clubs longest standing continuous member, and was awarded an Honorary membership for this achievement in 2008 to celebrate the clubs Golden Jubilee.

Frank started off shooting Recurve, and achieved the grade of 1st Class Archer, he later changed style to shoot Compound.

Frank will be remembered for his love of tinkering, which lead him to make his many of his own accessories including sights, rests, stabilisers and pressure buttons, he also helped many members over the years that had problems with their equipment.

Frank was also one of the clubs original Trustee’s and held the post for 10 years before stepping down.

Clive Stewart-Milner

1982 - 2011

Clive was a very respected and valued member of the club. He served briefly on the committee as a senior representative, but he much preferred to be involved in the maintenance and improvement of the club.

He was one of the driving forces behind the construction and erection of the indoor extension to the club house and its later modification to improve the kitchen area and to fit the steel cladding to the roof.

Clive shot Recurve for most of his membership, attaining a Bowman consistently year after year, but did put a few Master Bowman scores in at the club. Clive started shooting Longbow during the last several years of his membership and again put in consistently good scores.
